Curriculum Journey

At Heltwate, children and young people are at the heart of everything we do. We recognise that every learner is unique, with their own strengths, interests, and ways of learning. By building on these individual qualities, we support each child and young person to achieve their fullest potential.

Every individual’s curriculum is personalised around what we know about them, alongside their aspirations, needs, and future goals. Our curriculum is shaped through close collaboration with families, carers, and professionals, ensuring that each learner’s journey reflects the knowledge, expertise, and priorities of those who know them best.

We have developed clear Curriculum Journeys across the school, offering a range of pathways from Reception through to Key Stage 5. As children and young people grow, develop, and their needs evolve, their journey may change accordingly. Learners may move between pathways throughout their time at Heltwate, ensuring their curriculum remains responsive, meaningful, and tailored to their individual development.
